This is a decent axe for the price point. I couldn’t justify spending $250+ for a Gransfors Bruk carving axe.It came with a nice sheathe. The handle was hung properly with no gaps at the eye.If you’re a bowl or spoon carver, the following might interest you.The axe head was coated with some kind of lacquer, which I promptly buffed off with a wire wheel. Be prepared to spend a good deal sharpening if you’re a serious woodworker. I ground down the blade with a low speed grinder to customize the edge with a right bevel for hewing. I spent approximately 4 hrs on diamond and whet stones to get the edge I desired.
